The prominent winter constellations, making up the winter hexagon, sink down to the western horizon at midnight in February. The bright object between the constellations Leo and Gemini is planet Saturn in Cancer in the year 2006. In 2011 Saturn is already in the constellation of Virgo, just left (south-east) of Leo. Jupiter can be found only in the evening low above the western horizon. Mars is invisible, but bright planet Venus rises prominently in the morning in early 2011.
